School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Pontiac, Michigan

A contract position is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide essential nursing support in a K-12 school setting located in Pontiac, MI. This role focuses on delivering 1:1 nursing care within a preschool and childcare environment, specifically Kids & Company Preschool & Childcare. The assignment covers half-day shifts assisting with specialized medical needs for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one nursing support tailored to individual student requirements
• Manage G-tube suctioning and tracheostomy (trach) care in accordance with established protocols
• Support students with minimal or no toileting assistance as needed
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with school staff and parents
• Comply with district safety and health policies, including fingerprinting and badge requirements

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Current and valid LPN/LVN licensure
• Experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing preferred
• Skilled in G-tube and tracheostomy care procedures
• Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in a school environment
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail for student health documentation

Schedule:

• Half-day shifts from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
• Specific dates: February 3, 9, 12, 17, 19; March 5, 11; April 7, 9, 10; May 7
• Leave coverage on a contract basis

Additional Requirements:

• District-issued badge and onsite fingerprinting are mandatory prior to start
• Sub acceptance must be confirmed by 8:00 AM or the start of the school day
