School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Quincy, MA

This contract role offers the chance to provide vital care and compassion during the Extended School Year (ESY) session from July 1st through August 6th. Licensed RNs and LPNs are encouraged to apply—two positions are available!

As a member of the school health team, you’ll work in a 1:1 setting with a medically fragile student, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being throughout their school day and during required transportation on the school bus. Your expertise and attentive care will provide peace of mind for families and staff while enhancing the student's educational experience.

Qualifications:

• Active, valid RN or LPN license in Massachusetts
• Previous experience in a school environment or with medically fragile children is preferred
• Comfortable providing individualized care and supporting mobility or medical needs during bus rides
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with school staff and families
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and exceptional pediatric care

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive 1:1 care to a medically fragile student throughout the school day
• Monitor, document, and respond promptly to any changes in the student’s medical status
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Ride the bus with the student to and from school, ensuring their safety in transit
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely health records
