This role provides one-on-one care for a seven-year-old female student, ensuring her day-to-day safety, comfort, and participation in school activities.

Your day will begin by meeting the student at her home for a 9:00 am school bus pickup, assisting with her adaptive stroller (similar to a wheelchair), and ensuring safe transfer and transport to school. At the end of each day, you’ll accompany her and provide support during her 4:21 pm drop-off. This role requires compassionate expertise in lifting and mobility support, as well as personal care including diapering, using a height-adjustable changing table with two-person transfer protocols.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid LPN or LVN license with current standing
  • Prior experience providing one-on-one care for children in a school or pediatric setting
  • Competency in g-tube and tracheostomy care; comfortable with medical technologies and emergency procedures
  • Ability to support non-verbal students; experience with alternative communication devices (eye-gaze AAC a plus, though student is not using it functionally yet)
  • Skilled at safe patient transfers and personal hygiene support, including diapering and use of adaptive strollers/wheelchairs
  • Reliable for scheduled bus riding responsibilities
  • Compassion, patience, and sensitivity to children’s unique medical and developmental needs

In this vital position, you’ll make a positive difference each day by ensuring your student receives attentive, expert care—and by helping her participate more fully in her elementary school experience.
