Your background as an LPN or RN ideally includes experience in K-12 school settings, along with a valid School Nurse license. You'll be the key resource for health-related needs on campus, offering expert attention to students and working collaboratively with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Hold a current K-12 School Nurse license (LPN or RN).
  • Confident working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check and remain “not disqualified” under relevant Minnesota guidelines.
  • Experience in pediatric, school, or community nursing preferred.
  • Reliable, organized, and clear communicator comfortable with both clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer prompt temporary and emergency care, as well as first aid, to students in a K-8 setting.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students' health and development status, including conducting annual vision and hearing screenings.
  • Administer, track, and document medications for students with acute and chronic health needs; consult with physicians and parents as needed for medication adjustments.
  • Prepare and maintain first aid kits to ensure readiness across both school buildings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, and support the overall health education efforts within the school.
