A contract opportunity is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a high school student in an educational setting. This role involves a combination of nursing and paraprofessional duties tailored to meet the individual needs of the student.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care focused on the specific health needs of one high school student, primarily working one-on-one.
- Assist with paraprofessional duties supporting the student’s educational and developmental goals, comprising approximately 80% of the daily workload.
- Collaborate with the student’s educational team, including support staff such as the Intervener, to ensure consistent care and communication.
- Monitor and report on the student’s health status and assist with any required interventions during school hours.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to district policies and health protocols.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN/LVN license.
- Experience working in a school or educational environment is preferred.
- Ability to provide compassionate nursing care and a willingness to perform paraeducator tasks.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with other staff and ensure student well-being.
- Flexibility to support occasional needs beyond the assigned student as required.
Location & Schedule:
- Forest Lake, MN (close to Saint Paul).
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Contract position from January 5, 2026, through June 5, 2026.
