A full-semester opportunity is available for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support a middle school student with specialized healthcare needs in San Luis Obispo, CA. This contract position spans from January 13, 2026, to June 9, 2026, providing critical nursing care within an educational setting dedicated to fostering student well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled nursing care on a 1:1 basis to an 8th-grade male student with complex eating and emotional disorders.
  • Monitor the student’s health status closely and manage medical interventions as required.
  • Collaborate with school staff and healthcare professionals to support the student’s educational and emotional needs.
  • Participate in an LVN pool to provide coverage for other students as needed, including urgent care situations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely health records in compliance with school policies and regulations.
  • Be present onsite during school hours, working 32.5 hours per week with a 7-hour day and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Qualifications:

  • Active California LVN license is required.
  • Experience in mental health nursing is highly recommended.
  • Male candidates are preferred to provide appropriate support for the student.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.

  • Position based onsite at a middle school in San Luis Obispo, CA.
