A licensed vocational nurse (LVN) opportunity is available to support an 8th grade student with complex medical and emotional needs in a middle school setting in Santa Maria, CA. This full-semester contract role requires providing one-on-one care to a student with an eating disorder and emotional challenges, ensuring their health and safety throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized nursing care focused on the student’s complex eating disorder and emotional health
  • Monitor the student's condition and respond promptly to any medical or behavioral concerns
  • Participate as part of an LVN pool to provide coverage during staff absences or urgent needs
  • Collaborate with educational and healthcare teams to promote student wellness and supportive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with school personnel and families

Qualifications:

  • Current California LVN license required
  • Experience in mental health nursing highly recommended
  • Male candidates preferred due to student compatibility
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Location and Schedule:

  • Middle school site located in Santa Maria, CA
  • Onsite position only
  • Full semester contract: January 13, 2026, through June 9, 2026
  • 32.5 hours per week, typically 7 hours daily with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
