School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Santa Maria, CA

Seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a passion for supporting students in a school environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting impact within a collaborative team, working at a site near Santa Maria, CA. You will play an important role in supporting the health and well-being of students as part of a dedicated LVN pool during the school year.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid California LVN license required
• Previous experience as an LPN/LVN in a school setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to adapt quickly to different student needs and environments
• Committed to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all situations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite nursing care to students, including medication administration, routine health checks, and emergency response
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to identify and address student health concerns
• Document nursing interventions and maintain clear, accurate health records
• Assist with care plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs
• Participate as part of an LVN pool, offering flexible support wherever needed on campus
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal health regulations and protocols

Details & Schedule:

• Contract runs from October 9, 2026, through August 6, 2027, with the potential option for staff to voluntarily sign up for Extended School Year (ESY) hours as available.
• 32.5 hours per week during the regular school year; 6.5-hour workdays onsite
• Strictly onsite work; no virtual assignments
