Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a dynamic young student in a school-based environment near Seattle, WA. This position is ideal for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a passion for pediatric care in educational settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Current LPN/LVN license in Washington state
- Previous experience supporting children in school or pediatric settings preferred
- Expertise in tracheostomy and ventilator care is essential
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with school teams
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- BLS/CPR certification (current)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct medical care for a vibrant 5-year-old with a trach and vent, who is otherwise active and ambulatory
- Monitor and manage medical needs safely throughout the school day
- Administer medications and maintain accurate health records
- Collaborate with educators and staff to support the student’s full participation in classroom activities
- Assist with transitions, transportation, and activities as needed
- Serve as a key liaison between family, staff, and healthcare providers
Assignment Details:
- Summer session: July 7 – July 30, three mornings per week (Tue/Wed/Thu), 8am–12pm (transportation may adjust hours to 7:30–12:30)
- Continuing assignment for the full school year: September 8 – June 21, transitioning to five full days per week coinciding with kindergarten hours
