School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | South Fallsburg, New York

Take on an important role in a school setting by delivering essential healthcare services as a school nurse. Multiple contract positions are available, including a full-time opportunity providing one-on-one care for a 10th grade student with diabetes, and a bus riding-only schedule dedicated to supporting student needs during transit.

Choose from the following schedules:

• Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:45am-2:55pm, one-on-one with a student requiring diabetes management and oversight throughout the school day.
• Bus riding only, Monday-Friday, 7:15am-9:15am and 1:30pm-3:45pm, assisting students during morning and afternoon transportation.

Key qualifications and skills:

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) credential required
• Previous experience providing care to children or within a school setting is highly desirable
• Strong communication and documentation abilities
• Competency in diabetes management (for full-time 1:1 position)
• Compassionate, adaptable, and able to respond calmly to student health needs

Core responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care and medication administration as directed by individual health plans
• Monitor and respond to medical needs of assigned students, including blood sugar checks and interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate records and clear communication with educators, guardians, and healthcare teams
• Ensure safety and welfare of students during school hours and on school transportation
