School LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Torrance, California

This full-time, contract position runs from July 13, 2026, through August 7, 2026, offering the opportunity to provide essential support during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. Working Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, you will serve as a dedicated nurse for one student, ensuring their well-being throughout the school day.

What You'll Bring:

• Active LPN, LVN, or RN license, valid in California
• Previous experience working in schools or with children/adolescents preferred
• Background in diabetes management, including monitoring continuous glucose monitors (CGM) such as Dexcom
• Comfortable responding swiftly to alerts and intervening in urgent situations
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Compassionate, attentive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively with school staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the daily health needs of one student with diabetes
• Monitor CGM (Dexcom) data and act immediately if glucose levels drop, including responding to alerts
• Administer medication promptly if the student becomes unresponsive or as needed per care plan
• Maintain clear health logs and communicate promptly with caregivers and school personnel
• Foster a supportive and reassuring presence, advocating for the student's safety and comfort
