School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Washingtonville, New York

Looking for a dedicated nurse to provide essential care and support for a high school student while riding the school bus. This contract role runs from ASAP through June 25, 2027, with the possibility to renew for the summer and the following academic year upon a successful fit. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a school environment, focusing exclusively on bus rides, and have strong experience with seizure monitoring and emergency response.

Key Qualifications:

• Must hold a current LPN or RN license
• Previous experience in school nursing or with pediatric populations preferred
• Skilled in seizure recognition and monitoring
• Confident in administering Diastat as needed
• Strong observational and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and compassionate approach to care

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor a high school student with seizure needs while on the school bus
• Provide immediate care and intervention as appropriate
• Administer Diastat when required, ensuring proper documentation
• Communicate effectively with school staff, student’s family, and transportation personnel
• Maintain accurate records of any interventions or health observations
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment during transport
