This contract opportunity involves working one-on-one within a high school environment, ensuring a safe and nurturing experience for the student while collaborating closely with school staff and families.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active LPN license valid in Connecticut
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred, but not required
  • Ability to provide compassionate, attentive 1:1 care to students with complex medical needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals
  • Commitment to professionalism and maintaining student confidentiality

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver skilled nursing care and monitor the health status of a medically fragile student
  • Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as needed during the school day
  • Maintain clear, accurate health records and document care provided
  • Communicate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers regarding the student’s health and care plan
  • Support the student in participating as fully as possible in the school day
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment

Position Details:

  • Contract role through the current school year, concluding June 11
  • Work scheduled Wednesdays only, 7:30 am to 2:30 pm (with early release days ending at 12:10 pm)
  • Specific coverage dates throughout the academic year provided
  • All interviews conducted onsite when possible
