Key Qualifications:
- Active LPN license valid in Connecticut
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred, but not required
- Ability to provide compassionate, attentive 1:1 care to students with complex medical needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals
- Commitment to professionalism and maintaining student confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care and monitor the health status of a medically fragile student
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as needed during the school day
- Maintain clear, accurate health records and document care provided
- Communicate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers regarding the student’s health and care plan
- Support the student in participating as fully as possible in the school day
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
Position Details:
- Contract role through the current school year, concluding June 11
- Work scheduled Wednesdays only, 7:30 am to 2:30 pm (with early release days ending at 12:10 pm)
- Specific coverage dates throughout the academic year provided
- All interviews conducted onsite when possible
