Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Wellington, KS

Make an impact as a full-time LPN/LVN supporting a high school student with complex medical needs in an educational setting. In this one-on-one contract role, you'll work weekdays from 7:40 am to 3:10 pm, providing dedicated care throughout the school day. The student, a 12th grader, requires hands-on medical support due to multiple diagnoses including TBI, intractable epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and chronic respiratory and gastrointestinal concerns. Your clinical skills and compassionate approach will enable this student to access education in a safe and supportive environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active LPN or LVN license in good standing
• Experience with pediatric nursing, preferred
• Skilled in tracheostomy and GI tube management
• Comfortable providing care for students with complex and chronic health issues, including seizures and physical disabilities
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively with school staff and families
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Current CPR certification required

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one nursing care, including trach and GI tube management, suctioning, seizure monitoring, medication administration, and respiratory support
• Support student’s activities of daily living and safe participation in class
• Maintain accurate health records and collaborate with the care team
• Communicate updates and concerns effectively to school staff and guardians
• Respond quickly in emergency situations and adhere to medical protocols
• Assist with mobility and ensure safety in movement and transfers
