This full-time 1:1 assignment is ideal for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who thrives in a collaborative environment and is dedicated to enhancing student safety, comfort, and independence. The school day runs from 7:40 AM–3:10 PM on contract basis and offers the chance to partner closely with school staff to make a positive difference.

Your primary responsibility will be delivering attentive care to a high school student with medically complex needs, including tracheostomy management, GI tube care, and seizure intervention. The role requires professional judgment, swift decision-making, and gentle advocacy to ensure the student’s health throughout the school day.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current LPN or LVN license with eligibility to practice in the state
  • Previous experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or 1:1 settings preferred
  • Confident in tracheostomy care, tube feedings (GJ tube), seizure monitoring, and assisting students with mobility limitations
  • Competence in emergency care procedures and use of medical equipment specific to student’s needs
  • Strong communication; able to coordinate between school staff, families, and healthcare providers
  • Professional, compassionate, and adaptable to a school environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical care for a 12th grade student with complex medical needs, including trach and feeding tube management
  • Support the student during classes and transitions throughout the day
  • Monitor for early signs of health complications and intervene as needed
  • Document care and communicate observations to relevant personnel
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
