Soliant is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support for a medically fragile high school student during the 2026–2027 school year.
This role is ideal for a nurse with strong clinical experience who is comfortable working independently while providing safe, consistent care in a school-based setting.
Assignment Details
- Position: 1:1 School Nurse
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- School Year: 2026–2027
- Student: High school student requiring individualized medical support
- Setting: School-based
- Transportation Requirement: Must ride the bus with the student to and from school
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous 1:1 nursing care and medical support for a medically fragile student
- Monitor and manage the student's health needs throughout the school day and transportation route
- Provide tracheostomy and ventilator support as needed
- Follow physician orders, care plans, and school health protocols
- Respond appropriately to medical needs and emergencies
- Maintain accurate health documentation and communicate changes in student condition
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers
- Work independently while maintaining communication with the main school nurse and support team
- Ensure the student’s safety, comfort, and ability to participate in the school environment
Required Qualifications
- Active RN or LPN license (state requirements apply)
- Experience working with medically fragile patients/students
- Trach and ventilator experience required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable providing care during bus transportation to and from school
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to support a student in a school environment while managing complex medical needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous school nursing experience
- Pediatric nursing experience
- Experience supporting students with complex medical needs
- Familiarity with individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and emergency care procedures
