School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Winder, Georgia

Step into a vital role supporting elementary students who require thoughtful, hands-on health care throughout their school day. This contract opportunity places two skilled LPNs alongside a collaborative team comprised of teachers, paraprofessionals, and an in-building school nurse, all dedicated to ensuring every child’s wellbeing and access to learning.

You will provide essential nursing care for two medically involved students, accompany them on daily transportation to and from school, and be a trusted presence throughout the school routine. Your clinical expertise, compassion, and attention to detail directly empower these young learners to participate fully and safely in their educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, individualized nursing support to two assigned students in the school setting
• Accompany and supervise students during bus transportation to and from school each day
• Closely monitor student health needs, implementing care as directed by physician orders
• Respond promptly and appropriately to medical concerns or emergencies
• Maintain meticulous, up-to-date documentation of all nursing services provided
• Work in partnership with teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless support
• Facilitate student safety and help maximize daily classroom participation

Qualifications Sought:

• Valid LPN license in Georgia
• Preferred background in pediatric, school-based, or special education nursing
• Experience working with medically fragile or complex-needs students is highly valued
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented with documentation
• 3 professional references required (one must be from a recent supervisor)

Preferred:

• Previous experience with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and school-based health services
