Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Yorktown, VA

Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting a first-grade student as a 1:1 nurse in a vibrant school environment just outside Yorktown, VA. This opportunity is open for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Registered Nurses (RNs) with a passion for pediatric care and a commitment to making a meaningful impact in the classroom.

In this full-time, ASAP to end-of-school-year assignment, you’ll provide individualized care during school hours, ensuring the safety and well-being of a young student who requires tracheostomy and ventilator support.

What we’re looking for:

• Current, unrestricted LPN or RN license
• Experience in a school-based setting preferred
• Proven expertise with tracheostomy and ventilator care
• Pediatric experience and comfort working with young children
• Compassion, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work full-time hours throughout the remainder of the school year
• Quick availability for interview and onboarding

Role and responsibilities:

• Deliver direct 1:1 nursing care for a first-grade student during the school day
• Monitor and manage tracheostomy and ventilator equipment
• Support daily routines, including medication administration and emergency interventions
• Collaborate with educational staff and family to promote the student’s well-being
• Maintain thorough documentation of all care provided
• Serve as a caring advocate and resource for the student within the school setting
