Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist or School Social Worker in California
  • Prior experience in a school or child/adolescent mental health setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, counseling techniques, and family-centered care
  • Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and parents
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and support plans tailored to each student’s needs
  • Conduct assessments and participate in IEP or 504 Plan meetings as a mental health resource
  • Facilitate communication between families, teachers, and administration to ensure cohesive support
  • Support crisis response efforts and contribute to a safe and nurturing school climate
  • Maintain confidential and accurate records in compliance with school policies and legal guidelines
  • Deliver presentations or workshops on mental health topics to staff, students, or families as needed
