Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist or School Social Worker in California
- Prior experience in a school or child/adolescent mental health setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, counseling techniques, and family-centered care
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and parents
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and support plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Conduct assessments and participate in IEP or 504 Plan meetings as a mental health resource
- Facilitate communication between families, teachers, and administration to ensure cohesive support
- Support crisis response efforts and contribute to a safe and nurturing school climate
- Maintain confidential and accurate records in compliance with school policies and legal guidelines
- Deliver presentations or workshops on mental health topics to staff, students, or families as needed
