Music Therapist in Cypress, TX

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Music Therapist in a school-based setting! This unique contract opportunity allows you to provide essential therapy services and foster emotional growth through the power of music for a select group of students. You will work with 7 children, seeing 3-4 every other week during your dedicated day onsite, collaborating with school professionals to support student development and well-being.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current National Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) required
• Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly valued
• Ability to pass district fingerprinting and background check, as well as a drug screen
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic approach to working with children

Responsibilities:

• Design and facilitate music therapy sessions tailored to individual student needs
• Work closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to establish therapy goals
• Document progress and update case notes in accordance with district policies
• Offer support and consultation to staff and families regarding strategies for student success
• Employ a variety of instruments and musical techniques to engage and motivate children
• Travel to assigned school(s) within the district, with the flexibility to adapt to varying caseloads
