Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree in Music Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification appropriate for PK-12 levels
- Experience or strong interest in vocal music education, including classroom and choral settings
- Ability to design and implement inclusive, engaging lessons for students of all abilities
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organizational abilities and flexibility to adapt instruction
- Preferred experience with music therapy techniques, or eagerness to integrate therapeutic approaches in music education
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach vocal music classes to diverse groups, from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade
- Encourage student participation and appreciation for music as part of a vibrant school culture
- Plan and prepare lessons and appropriate materials for both general music classes and vocal ensembles
- Organize and conduct performances, concerts, or assemblies as part of the school’s arts programming
- Collaborate with faculty to meet the varied learning needs of students
- Assess student progress and provide engaging feedback for continued growth
- Maintain an encouraging, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
