Key Qualifications:
- Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential or eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy
- Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or clinical settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt sessions to accommodate a range of developmental, cognitive, and emotional needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ individual strengths and challenges to create customized, goal-oriented music therapy plans
- Implement engaging, evidence-based therapeutic interventions using music to address educational, emotional, behavioral, and social objectives
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with teachers and support teams
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to integrate musical interventions within broader student support plans
- Provide consultative support and resources to school staff, increasing their capacity to reinforce students’ progress
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
