An exciting contract opportunity is available for a talented Music Therapist to contribute their skills within a supportive educational environment near Houston, TX. In this position, you'll work with a small caseload of 7 students, delivering sessions on an every-other-week basis, averaging 3-4 students per day. You'll collaborate with educational teams, contribute your expertise to individualized education plans, and provide direct services that promote student development and well-being.
Qualifications:
- Current and active National Certification as a Music Therapist
- Fingerprint background check and drug screening clearance required before start date
- Previous experience working in school settings is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with children and staff
- Well-organized, dependable, and adaptable to changing needs
- Compassion for students with diverse backgrounds and developmental profiles
Responsibilities:
- Provide music therapy sessions for assigned students in accordance with IEP goals
- Develop individualized treatment plans and document student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate therapy with educational objectives
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all confidentiality and district requirements
- Adapt therapy techniques to best meet the unique needs of each student
