Licensed Music Therapist | Houston, Texas

Bring the joy of music to young learners by supporting their growth and development in a school-based setting as a Music Therapist. This unique contract opportunity allows you to make a real impact, working closely with a small, manageable caseload of students in an encouraging environment near Houston, TX.

You’ll work just one day per week for the duration of the school year, providing direct intervention to children who benefit from creative and structured music therapy to support their educational goals.

Key Qualifications:

• National Certification in Music Therapy (current and active)
• Previous experience working as a Music Therapist, ideally within a school environment
• Strong ability to connect with children and inspire progress through music-based techniques
• Capable of effective collaboration with educators, families, and support staff
• Completion of required district background check, including fingerprints and drug screening

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver individualized and group music therapy sessions for 7 children (ages and specific needs detailed upon assignment)
• Treat 3–4 students per scheduled service day, rotating every other week
• Maintain documentation, progress notes, and compliance in line with district and regulatory guidelines
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive space where students can express themselves and build confidence
• Communicate regularly with team members to track student growth and adjust interventions as needed
