This contract position calls for a certified Music Therapist to support students near Houston, TX during the 2026-2027 academic year. In this role, you’ll dedicate one day per week to providing music therapy services for a small, manageable caseload—working with 3 to 4 children per day, ages ranging based on specific caseload needs. Your sessions will occur every other week, allowing meaningful engagement while maintaining a flexible schedule. The district supports a collaborative, student-centered approach, and you’ll coordinate closely with educators and other professionals.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Active national certification in Music Therapy
- Experience working with school-aged children or within educational settings
- Strong communication skills, both for student interaction and collaboration with school staff
- The ability to adapt and tailor interventions to meet varying student needs
- Completion of district background check (including fingerprints) and a drug screening
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for helping students flourish
