Make a rewarding difference as a Music Therapist supporting students and teams across multiple campuses in an itinerant, part-time contract role. This engaging position offers up to 20 hours per week to start (with a possible increase as new programs open) and provides the flexibility to set your own workdays within the school week. In this essential role, you will provide both individual and group music therapy services within the campus setting to a diverse age range of students.

Key Qualifications:

  • National Certification in Music Therapy required
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities, including autism and developmental disorders
  • Strong grasp of music therapy assessment protocols, intervention planning, and IEP documentation
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with a range of music therapy strategies, adaptive materials, and tools
  • Must meet background and fingerprint requirements per district policies

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct music therapy interventions in accordance with individual IEPs
  • Assess student needs, track progress, and adapt therapy plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and ARD Committees to set and monitor goals
  • Support school staff via consultation and in-service training related to music therapy
  • Create a welcoming, developmentally appropriate environment that encourages student participation and self-expression
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with district, state, and federal guidelines
  • Consult on adaptive equipment selection and assist in evaluating program effectiveness
  • Attend relevant meetings and continued professional development activities
