Licensed Music Therapist | Katy, Texas

This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled Music Therapists eager to make a difference across varied age groups within a school setting. Both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and part-time (20 hours/week, with the potential to increase) options are available, offering flexibility in scheduling and campus assignments.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver individual and group music therapy sessions that support students’ unique needs and developmental levels
• Develop and maintain compliant schedules to ensure fulfillment of IEP goals and campus expectations
• Assess student progress and adapt therapy approaches, designing or modifying adaptive devices to maximize student achievement
• Participate actively in ARD Committees, interpreting assessment data, collaborating on placement, and setting student goals
• Consult with educational staff and families, providing training and support to foster greater understanding of music therapy’s impact
• Promote a positive, disciplined classroom environment and support student management in line with school policies
• Carry out ongoing program evaluation and implement improvements as needed
• Compile and maintain required reports and documentation
• Engage in professional development and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders
• Adhere to all relevant state, federal, and district policies, regulations, and training requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• National Certification in Music Therapy
• Strong knowledge of music therapy assessment, strategies, and documentation, especially for students with disabilities, including autism
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience developing, selecting, and modifying adaptive equipment and materials
• Ability to start on-site and remain flexible with scheduling and school assignments
• Fingerprinting may be required per district policy
