Music Therapist in Katy, TX

You will engage with a diverse group of children and support their growth through the power of therapeutic music sessions.

Key Qualifications:

• Active National Certification as a Music Therapist (required)
• Previous experience delivering music therapy in a school or pediatric setting preferred
• Comfort adapting music-based interventions to individual student needs
• Completion of district-required background check (fingerprints) and a drug screen prior to start date

Role Overview:

• Provide music therapy services to a select group of 7 students, with sessions occurring every other week (approximately 3-4 students per day)
• Serve one day per week at one or more school sites (specific assignments TBD)
• Collaborate with educators and interdisciplinary team members to enhance IEP goals and tailor services for each child’s developmental stage and learning style
• Document student progress, participate in meetings, and provide consultative support as needed
• Utilize a variety of musical instruments, methods, and creative movement to foster communication, self-expression, and emotional well-being in students
