Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Board Certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) required
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Music Therapy or related field
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents, particularly in schools, preferred
  • Ability to adapt musical activities for different developmental levels and needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for making a positive impact

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized and group music therapy sessions tailored to students' goals
  • Assess and document student progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to integrate therapy strategies into classroom routines
  • Foster a supportive, creative, and therapeutic environment that encourages socialization and self-expression
  • Utilize a variety of instruments, genres, and techniques to engage and motivate participants
  • Participate in school team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as needed
