This contract position offers the rewarding opportunity to serve as a .5 FTE vocal music teacher and music therapist, making a meaningful difference in a creative school environment near Margaretville, NY. Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Education, Music Therapy, or a related discipline
- Valid certification or licensure in Music Education and/or Music Therapy (or eligibility)
- Experience teaching or working with PK–12 students in a school or educational setting
- Skilled in vocal instruction and familiar with a variety of musical styles and approaches
- Ability to tailor music therapy interventions to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management abilities
- Commitment to cultivating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging vocal music lessons to students across grade levels, fostering creativity and confidence
- Provide individualized and group-based music therapy sessions aligned with student abilities and goals
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to develop and implement IEPs where required
- Contribute to school performances, music showcases, and community events
- Maintain accurate records and participate in staff meetings or professional development as needed
