Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • National certification in Music Therapy (required)
  • Background in assessment and service documentation aligning with student IEPs
  • Understanding of music therapy protocols, strategies, and interventions—especially for students with autism and developmental disabilities
  • Excellent organization, communication, and relationship-building abilities
  • Familiarity with adaptive equipment for music therapy
  • Willingness to complete fingerprinting per district requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group music therapy services, supporting diverse student needs
  • Evaluate and document progress, design adaptive resources, and assess student eligibility
  • Collaborate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal meetings to support IEP development and placement
  • Consult with parents, teachers, and staff to promote understanding and program success
  • Develop and maintain supportive program evaluations, recommending improvements as needed
  • Support staff development through training on music therapy principles and practices
  • Maintain required documentation, comply with local/state regulations, and participate in ongoing professional development
