Make a difference through the power of music by supporting students across K-12 grades as a Music Therapist in the Houston metropolitan area. This per diem contract opportunity offers a flexible two-day-per-week schedule throughout the upcoming school year. You’ll utilize music-based interventions to inspire growth, encourage communication, and foster emotional well-being in diverse school settings.
Preferred candidates will possess the passion and creativity necessary to tailor therapeutic experiences for students with a variety of needs, collaborating with educational teams to help each child thrive.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Texas Standard Educator Certificate with a special focus in Music EC-12
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Certification or experience as a Music Therapist (new graduates and experienced therapists are both encouraged to apply)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with children at all grade levels (K-12)
- Enthusiasm for creative, student-centered interventions
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver music therapy sessions that support IEP goals and student development
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Document services provided and maintain accurate records for each student
- Adapt and modify therapeutic approaches based on individual needs and progress
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that empowers every student
