Key Qualifications:

  • Certified or eligible to teach vocal music, with experience in PK-12 settings preferred
  • Background or specialization in music therapy
  • Strong vocal proficiency and the ability to lead classroom and group instruction
  • Skilled in developing age-appropriate curriculum that engages a diverse student population
  • Ability to collaborate with general and special education teachers to support student needs
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding of students’ developmental stages
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based vocal music lessons to students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12
  • Utilize music therapy techniques to enhance students’ social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Create a supportive learning environment that celebrates each student’s abilities
  • Develop and coordinate performances and musical events throughout the school year
  • Individualize instruction to support the inclusion of students with varying learning and behavioral needs
  • Assess and document student progress, providing regular feedback to families and school staff
  • Participate in school activities and collaborate with faculty as an integral member of the educational team
