Music Therapist - Richmond, TX

Essential Qualifications:

• National certification in Music Therapy required
• Thorough understanding of strategies, equipment, and adaptive materials in music therapy
• Experience with assessment protocols for students with disabilities
• Expertise in documentation and providing music therapy services per IEP guidelines
• Skill in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and consulting with educational staff and parents
• Knowledge of interventions for students with autism and developmental disabilities
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to design, construct, or alter adaptive equipment for student use
• District fingerprinting required (prints on file may be accepted)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group music therapy within a campus setting
• Assess and evaluate student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
• Participate in IEP/ARD meetings to inform placement and goal-setting
• Consult with staff and parents; provide professional development school-wide
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and comply with all district, state, and federal policies
• Foster a positive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs and developmental level
• Engage in continuous professional development relevant to music therapy in schools
