This on-site contract opportunity starts August 11, 2026, with an initial schedule of 20 flexible hours per week; hours may increase as the program expands, offering additional growth potential.

Key Qualifications:

  • National certification as a Music Therapist required
  • Previous experience in school or educational settings strongly preferred
  • Background working with students with autism and developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of assessment protocols and delivering therapy aligned to IEPs
  • Ability to design and modify adaptive equipment for student success
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Must satisfy district fingerprinting and credential verification requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group music therapy sessions at itinerant school sites, adapting approach to student age and needs
  • Assess student abilities to determine eligibility and support IEP goals
  • Track progress and keep compliant, organized records and reports
  • Design, construct, and provide adaptive materials to promote achievement
  • Actively participate in ARD meetings, interpreting assessment data and contributing to placement and goal-setting
  • Consult and collaborate with staff, parents, and administrators to maximize students’ therapy benefits and understanding of the program
  • Lead staff-development training within assigned schools
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment while maintaining student management practices in line with campus policy
  • Support ongoing program evaluation and recommend improvements based on findings
  • Attend all required professional development to maintain best practices in the field
