Bring your passion for music therapy to a meaningful role supporting children with developmental disabilities and autism. This part-time, contract opportunity offers the chance to work 3-5 hours per week throughout the full school year. You'll facilitate impactful music therapy sessions for a small group of 4-6 children, providing two group sessions weekly in a supportive, nonprofit environment.
Your expertise will help students develop communication, social, and motor skills through music-based interventions. You'll tailor sessions to meet each child’s needs, collaborating with educators and other therapists to promote student growth and engagement.
Key Qualifications:
- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), or actively pursuing certification
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or autism
- Understanding of best practices in school-based or pediatric music therapy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary team
Role Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver customized music therapy sessions twice per week for small groups
- Adapt interventions to support each child’s individual goals and abilities
- Document session outcomes and track student progress regularly
- Communicate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain a positive, motivating, and inclusive environment
