Step into a rewarding contract role serving students as a Music Therapist in a school-based setting. Enjoy the flexibility of an itinerant schedule, working part-time—20 hours each week—with the potential to increase to 30+ hours as new programs launch. This position begins in August 2026 and continues through the school year.

Your expertise will shine as you deliver individual and group music therapy sessions for students of varying ages and abilities. Using your skills, you’ll design adaptive equipment, interpret assessments, and shape IEP goals, all while collaborating with passionate educational teams and families. You’ll have input on which days of the week you work, making it easier to fit your commitments.

Key Qualifications:

  • National certification in Music Therapy
  • Experience with assessment, eligibility determination, and IEP documentation
  • Strong knowledge of music therapy strategies for students with disabilities, and familiarity with interventions for autism and other developmental challenges
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage required administrative reporting in line with policies and applicable laws
  • Fingerprinting required (if not already on file)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct music therapy assessments and participate in ARD Committees
  • Plan and provide therapy to ensure compliance with IEPs and campus needs
  • Consult and train staff, offering expertise in music therapy programs
  • Foster a positive, developmentally-appropriate learning environment
  • Contribute to ongoing program evaluation and improvement
  • Maintain comprehensive records and participate in professional development
