Music Therapist in Roxbury, MA

Qualifications:

• Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) required, or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in an academic or therapeutic environment is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with a variety of musical instruments and adaptable therapeutic techniques.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside educational staff and families.
• Ability to organize and track therapy goals and progress efficiently.
• Dedication to inclusivity and supporting students with diverse learning and developmental needs.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct two 45-minute music therapy sessions weekly with students, tailoring interventions to individual strengths and needs.
• Collaborate closely with school staff, support teams, and families to develop and achieve therapy goals.
• Document student progress and make recommendations for ongoing or additional services as needed.
• Participate in team meetings or provide input for evaluations and new cases if requested.
