Key Qualifications:
- Active national certification in music therapy is required
- Prior experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
- Strong understanding of evidence-based music therapy practices
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals
- Up-to-date fingerprint background check and drug screening (time-sensitive due to district requirements)
- Organized, flexible, and compassionate approach to student care
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct music therapy services to a small caseload (approximately 7 students, ages vary), with sessions every other week
- Develop and implement individualized therapy goals and interventions for each student
- Communicate session progress, needs, and recommendations to staff and families in written and verbal form
- Adapt and tailor music therapy activities to accommodate students’ abilities and developmental needs
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to all confidentiality and district compliance policies
- Travel to designated schools as assigned (schools and daily schedule determined prior to start)
- Attend team meetings and contribute to collaborative planning as needed
