Bring your passion for music therapy to a dynamic educational environment as you support students with diverse needs across multiple campuses near Sugar Land, TX. This contract role is part-time (20 hours weekly, with the possibility to increase as the program expands), offering a flexible schedule with the opportunity to work on-site within local schools. You'll collaborate with both students and staff in a vital, engaging capacity throughout the school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • National Certification in Music Therapy required
  • Background or strong interest in working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of assessment protocols, individualized education plans (IEP), and adaptive equipment for music therapy
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide and document therapy services in compliance with federal, state, and school district policies
  • Willingness to complete district fingerprinting requirements (if not already on file)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group music therapy sessions, scheduling services to meet IEP and campus requirements
  • Assess students with disabilities to determine eligibility and support specific IEP goals
  • Develop progress reports, participate in ARD Committees, and help set meaningful student goals
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to optimize therapy impact and provide staff training as needed
  • Foster a safe, supportive environment for students' growth and learning
  • Track, report, and maintain all necessary documentation in accordance with district and legal standards

Additional Details:

  • No music equipment provided – candidates must be able to adapt to available resources
  • Itinerant position covering multiple schools, with flexibility on which days are worked
  • Role to start August 2026 and conclude May 2027, with potential to grow hours as the program expands
