Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Music Therapist supporting students across multiple school campuses. Beginning August 11, 2026, and extending through May 26, 2027, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping students thrive through music therapy. This contract role offers part-time hours—20 weekly to start, with the potential for more as the academic year progresses and the program grows.
As an itinerant therapist, you’ll have the flexibility to set your daily schedule, collaborating with educators, administrators, and families to design impactful learning environments. You’ll provide both individual and group services, develop and adapt therapy resources, and ensure your students’ needs are met per their IEPs.
What We’re Looking For:
- National Certification in Music Therapy (required)
- Previous experience delivering music therapy in educational or similar settings—especially with students with autism or developmental disabilities
- Strong knowledge of assessment protocols and the ability to align services with IEP goals
- Skilled in constructing or modifying adaptive equipment for student needs
- Flexible and well-organized; able to balance reports, schedules, and collaborative responsibilities
- Excellent communicator and team collaborator
- Willingness to participate in professional development and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and district policies
- Must complete required fingerprinting/background checks
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering music therapy services to students on-site, both individually and in groups
- Assessing student progress and eligibility, and adjusting interventions as needed
- Consulting with staff and parents, and conducting staff training sessions
- Participating in ARD committee meetings to help shape student programs
- Managing thorough documentation and student records
- Supporting a positive learning environment in alignment with student codes and handbooks
