An opportunity is available for a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) to provide essential services in a school setting. This part-time, contract position focuses on empowering students with visual impairments by developing their orientation and mobility skills to enhance independence and safety.

Key Qualifications:

• Licensed Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) in Virginia
• Proven experience working with students in an educational environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
• Ability to develop and implement individualized mobility plans tailored to student needs
• Commitment to in-person engagement and student-centered services

Responsibilities include:

• Assessing students’ orientation and mobility needs in a school setting
• Delivering direct, in-person instruction to students to improve travel skills
