Your key qualifications:
• Professional certification or credentialing as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
• Demonstrated experience working in a school setting or with children and young adults who are visually impaired
• Strong understanding of orientation and mobility techniques, including assessment and instruction
• Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet varied individual needs
• A collaborative approach for working alongside other educational professionals

Your responsibilities:
• Conduct orientation and mobility assessments and develop individualized instructional plans
• Provide direct instruction to students in both indoor and outdoor environments, focusing on safe, independent travel skills
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to integrate mobility instruction into students’ overall educational programs
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for students’ mobility needs
• Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere within the school community
