Key Qualifications:

  • Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) required
  • Experience working in school settings, especially with adolescents, is preferred

  • Current knowledge of best practices and tools in orientation and mobility interventions

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective, individualized orientation and mobility training to a 9th-grade student with visual impairments
  • Conduct assessments to determine ongoing needs and progress
  • Collaborate with educational staff and family members to support student success
  • Maintain thorough documentation of services and progress notes in accordance with school policies
  • Participate in team meetings as needed to contribute to student growth and share expertise
  • Stay informed on latest trends and resources in the field to continually enhance student experience
