Make a meaningful impact by supporting K–8 students as a contract Orientation and Mobility Specialist. You’ll provide essential compensatory services and direct therapy to around 12 students across two to three schools per week, focusing on those in the Lake Howell zone. Your work will help students build safe, independent travel skills so they can participate fully in their education and community.

This assignment is on-site only and open to travel professionals willing to work in the Oviedo/Sanford area. The position runs from August 10, 2026, through May 25, 2027. Interviews are scheduled for April 27, 2026, so prompt applications are encouraged.

Your qualifications:

  • Valid National O&M Licensure and Vision Certification (both required)
  • Previous experience as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in school settings preferred
  • Driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to provide documentation for background and credentialing: social security card, original professional license, fingerprinting receipt, demographic form, and completed I-9
  • Comfortable working with K–8 students and collaborating with school personnel and families

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct O&M therapy to students, tailoring instruction to individual needs and goals
  • Provide compensatory services and, if needed, conduct O&M evaluations
  • Travel between schools within the assigned zone as scheduled
  • Communicate regularly with school teams, contribute to IEPs, and maintain timely documentation
