Make a meaningful impact by supporting students in their journey toward greater independence. A school-based contract opportunity is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to work on-site in a dynamic, professional educational environment from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027. Full-time hours ensure you have the opportunity to develop strong relationships and make a real difference for students.

You will provide essential Orientation and Mobility instruction to visually impaired students, equipping them with the skills they need to move confidently and safely in school and community settings. The district has indicated contingent approval of vacancies by June 8th or 9th, with a high likelihood of interviews taking place the following week.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • National Orientation and Mobility Certification
  • Vision Certification required
  • Experience in school-based settings is preferred but not required
  • Expertise in assessment and tailored intervention for students with visual impairments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
  • Willingness to undergo district-specific onboarding and credentialing, including submission of required forms for badge issuance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver age-appropriate and individualized Orientation and Mobility instruction
  • Assess students’ needs and progress, documenting growth and updating plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support IEP and 504 goal attainment
  • Participate in meetings, consultations, and school activities as required
  • Maintain accurate records according to district policies
