Qualifications:

• Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
• Prior experience working with students with visual impairments, preferably in school or educational settings
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor instructions to the needs of individual students
• Proficient in goal-setting, documentation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, therapists, and administrators

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students’ orientation and mobility abilities and recommend appropriate interventions
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized orientation and mobility instruction plans
• Provide direct training to students on safe travel techniques, use of mobility aids, and navigation strategies
