Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) - Bensalem, PA

Start making a difference in students’ lives as a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist. This contract opportunity is located near Bensalem, PA, with immediate and future start dates available (ASAP or August 2026). You’ll play a key role in empowering students with visual impairments through personalized instruction and support.

Scheduled for 32.5 hours a week, Monday through Friday (8:00 am to 3:15 pm), you’ll work in a collaborative and student-centered environment, serving a range of needs across the school community. Your expertise will help prepare students for greater independence and success both inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Current Certificate of Orientation and Mobility in Pennsylvania (required)
• Previous experience as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in educational settings is highly preferred
• Strong ability to develop and implement individualized O&M plans
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive O&M assessments for students with visual impairments
• Develop, deliver, and monitor individualized O&M instruction
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and administrators to create effective support plans
• Document progress and maintain accurate student records in accordance with school and state guidelines
• Offer guidance on safety, travel, and independence for students in various school and community settings
