Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist supporting students from PK-12 across multiple campuses in Chester County, PA (Downington area). This full-time position serves a diverse group of 25 students and covers a maternity leave starting February 2027 and running through June 2027. If you have a passion for helping students navigate their environments safely and independently, you’ll thrive in this role.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) licensure is required
  • Proven experience working with school-aged children, preferably across the PK-12 spectrum
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to travel between multiple campus locations as needed
  • Professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced educational setting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Assess students’ abilities and design individualized instructional programs
  • Consult with teachers and support staff to ensure integration of mobility training within educational environments
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student safety and independence on campus and in the community
  • Maintain accurate records and progress documentation in line with district policies
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP planning as needed
