You will deliver both direct and indirect services, making a significant difference in your students' independence and confidence. Take on an engaging caseload that blends individual instruction, consultations, material preparation, and vital assessment duties.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
- Background as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired highly valued
- Experience conducting Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation & Mobility assessments
- Skilled in providing direct instructional hours and consultative support to staff
- Familiarity with ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meeting participation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional sessions to students with visual impairments
- Conduct indirect services, including staff consultations and resource/material preparation
- Perform thorough assessments (FVE, LMA, O&M) and maintain detailed documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in ARD meetings to support individualized educational planning
- Maintain clear communication with faculty, families, and district personnel
