Step into an impactful role as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS), where you'll support K–8 students across two to three schools in the Oviedo and Sanford areas. As a valued professional in this contract position, you'll provide essential compensatory services and direct therapy to 12 students who need your expertise. This is a travel-friendly, on-site opportunity, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week from August 10, 2026, to May 25, 2027.

Qualifications:

  • Active national Orientation and Mobility (O&M) licensure
  • Vision certification required
  • Valid driver’s license and Social Security card
  • Physical copies of all professional credentials (no digital copies)
  • Completion of Form 1403 Fingerprinting for contract services
  • Receipt from an official Field Print fingerprinting location
  • Ability to complete required demographic forms and I-9 documentation (Sections 1 & 2)
  • Experience working in school settings with K–8 students is highly desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct orientation and mobility therapy to a caseload of 12 students in grades K–8
  • Address the unique navigation needs of students as part of compensatory services
  • Complete evaluations as needed to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Rotate between two or three campuses, primarily within the Lake Howell zone (Heathrow Middle, Markham Woods Middle, and a nearby additional school)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and school staff to support student growth and independence
