This part-time position is for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) providing direct services to students in a K-12 school setting. The role involves approximately 90 minutes of service per month to one student, focusing on mobility and orientation skills to support student independence and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct orientation and mobility services tailored to the individual needs of the student.
- Develop and implement mobility plans to enhance student's navigation and travel skills within various environments.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student progress.
- Document and report student progress regularly.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS).
- Experience working with school-age children, preferably K-12.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Location: Fowler, CO
