Step into a dynamic role as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist supporting K-12 students for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. This full-time contract position offers the chance to work with diverse learners across multiple campuses as you travel throughout the district. The opportunity is open to professionals from out of state, and interviews can be scheduled promptly for the right candidates.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) credentials
  • Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to create individualized goals and programs for students with visual impairments
  • Comfortable working in an itinerant role, traveling between different sites within the district
  • Openness to candidates from out of state; valid credentials required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ orientation and mobility needs and develop tailored instructional plans
  • Teach safe, independent travel skills and orientation techniques in a variety of school and community environments
  • Collaborate with educational teams, families, and other service providers to support student success
  • Document progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Serve multiple schools, adapting to various settings and student needs throughout the district
