Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Lansdale, PA

Make a positive impact by providing vital support to students as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist. This contract position offers a flexible start—jump in as soon as possible or plan ahead for August 2026. Located near Lansdale, PA, you'll work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling 32.5 hours each week.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Pennsylvania Certificate in Orientation and Mobility
• Experience working in school settings preferred
• Strong knowledge of Orientation and Mobility techniques and best practices
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to develop and adapt individualized student plans
• Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students with visual impairments

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop effective Orientation and Mobility instructional plans tailored to each student
• Provide direct instruction and support to students, empowering them to navigate school and community environments safely
• Collaborate with special education staff, classroom teachers, and families to ensure cohesive support
• Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate documentation
• Attend IEP meetings, providing professional input and recommendations as needed
• Offer in-service training or consultation for staff on Orientation and Mobility strategies
